All About Us
Located
in a small hamlet, Rowarth, inbetween Marple Bridge and New Mills, The
Inns at Rowarth are a complex consisting of The Children’s Inn and The
Ranger Inn, holiday homes for Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and Adult
Leaders alike. The
gardens/grounds are large with the recent addition of an
adventure playground and are suitable for playing wide games etc. Picnic
benches are available and each of The Inns has its own BBQ and camp
fire area.
The
Children’s Inn was originally a 17th Century Coaching Inn, standing
on the coach road between Manchester and Derby. In 1926 is was named
The Children’s Inn and was used for children from Manchester to have
short holidays. In 1933, it came into the hands of The Guide Association.
The
Ranger Inn was the Coach House/Stable building which was converted in
1988 into an Outdoor Activities Centre for Guide, Ranger and Adult groups.
The
village of Rowarth is 1/2mile beyond The Inns and there are plenty of
short, scenic walks in the locality.
PLEASE
NOTE: No animals, except guide dogs are allowed on the premises. No
smoking is permitted in either building. The Children’s Inn is unsuitable
for mixed groups. Bookings for The Ranger Inn require children to be
